Daphne Alexopoulou is a poet, artist and writer. She grew up in 1960s Athens, Greece. Her childhood afternoons were spent climbing trees, cycling around Athens, and reading Asterix. Eating fresh pistachios, figs and sun-warmed corn from her backyard was a summertime highlight.

In 1977 Daphne travelled to London to study weaving at the Hammersmith College of Art before starting a family. She is the proud mother of five grown children, and the proud grandmother of three grandchildren.

She currently lives in Brisbane with her husband, where she is completing Petrichor, her first book of poems, while also working on her personal memoir.

Daphne regularly reads at spoken word events, live online poetry events, and charitable events such as Poems for Peace in London. She is passionate about poetry, food, family, and nature.

Daphne is available for poetry readings, and is always interested in collaborating for charitable and creative projects.
